Where static or stationary bollards provide a permanent access or theft deterrent fold down bollards can be installed to provide access when and where you need it. The Autobahn Folding Parking Post is one of Pittman’s most popular parking bollards and provides a long lasting theft deterrence where needed most.
Made from tough hot-dip galvanised steel these bollards will last a long time while in use while they euro profile cylinder lock provides quick and easy folding when in use. When you require access or are leaving your driveway simply turn the key in the lock and fold the bollard down towards the ground. On return just pull the bollard back up where it will click back into position.
Our fold-down bollards can be quickly and easily installed directly into concrete. When installing, mark out the pre-drilled holes for the bollard and then drill down as needed. Once this is done you can easily tighten the fixings into place.
If you are installing into tarmac, we recommend inserting a concrete pad to provide a stable base for the bollard. Tarmac tends to be weak at times when it comes to supporting a bollard so installing a concrete base provides the correct support and leverage that the bollard requires.

A foldable bollard is a post that can be unlocked and folded towards the ground. When locked and upright they can be used to deter vehicle entry to an area. When folded the bollards can allow vehicle access when required.
The lock on a folding bollard will vary product to product.
- Triangular lock - triangular locks are opened via a universal tool. While they are quick and easy to operate they can be opened by anyone who has access to the triangular tool.
- Padlock - some bollards will include a hasp for easy padlock locking. Padlocks can be a more cost-effective locking means for the bollard can they can be easily replaced when you need a new lock.
- Cylinder lock - cylinder locks are more secure than padlocks and are usualy built into the bollard mechanism. If the lock is located in the top of the bollard it will make it much easier for unlocking and folding. In most cases the keys can be cut to provide access to several people.
At Pittman® some lockable bollards are available in a keyed alike or keyed differently format. This means that if you are purchasing more than one bollard you have the option to allow one set of keys to unlock all bollards (keyed alike) or each bollard will have it's own specific set of keys (keyed differently).
Keyed alike bollards are useful where there are multiple posts next to or near eachother. Having one set of keys will make unlocking and folding bollards on site more efficient.
Fold down bollards can be installed in tarmac. We recommend that all bolt-down bollards are installed into a pre-existing concrete pad in the tarmac in order to provide a stable and secure base during use.
